คำสุภาพ (Polite)

• Please, Could you…, Would you mind…, I’m afraid…, Excuse me
• ใช้กับคนไม่สนิท, เจ้านาย, เพื่อนร่วมงาน

ตัวอย่าง:
Could you send me the report by tomorrow, please? ✅
Send me the report! ❌ (หยาบหรือไม่สุภาพ)

คำไม่สุภาพ / ต้องระวัง (Impolite / Slang)

• Shut up, Idiot, Damn it, Screw this
• ใช้กับเพื่อนสนิทบางคนเท่านั้น → ถ้าใช้ผิดสถานการณ์ → เสียมารยาท

Tip: ถ้าไม่แน่ใจ → ใช้ polite phrases → ปลอดภัยที่สุด

• เริ่มด้วย greeting + small talk สั้น ๆ
  Good morning, how are you today?
• ชัดเจน + กระชับ → Avoid long, confusing sentences
• ใช้คำสุภาพ / modal verbs → Could you…, Would you mind…, I’d appreciate…
• ใช้ transition words → Moreover, Therefore, However → ทำให้อีเมล / presentation ลื่นไหล
• จบด้วย call to action / closing polite → Please let me know if you need further information.
  Best regards, [Your Name]

Tip: พูดใน meeting → short, confident, polite

• Eye contact → สำคัญ แต่ไม่จ้องจน intimidate
• Listen before speaking → ให้ผู้อื่นพูดจบก่อน
• Avoid sensitive topics → เช่น religion, politics, money
• Use polite fillers → Excuse me, I’m sorry, Could you clarify…
• Mind your tone & volume → ไม่เสียงดังเกินไป, ไม่ monotone

ตัวอย่าง:
A: I think this plan might work better.
B: That’s an interesting idea. Could you explain a bit more? ✅
B (rude tone): No, that’s wrong! ❌

อารมณ์ขันไม่เหมือนกันทุกวัฒนธรรม → สิ่งที่ตลกในไทยอาจไม่ตลกหรือ offensive สำหรับฝรั่ง

• Avoid sarcasm หรือ jokes ที่ sensitive เช่น race, religion, politics, gender
• ใช้ humor แบบปลอดภัย:
  • Self-deprecating humor (หัวเราะตัวเอง)
    I always burn my toast, guess I’m a terrible chef!
  • Playful exaggeration (เกินจริงแบบสนุก)
    I’ve been waiting here for a million years!

Tip: เริ่มกับเพื่อนสนิทหรือคนที่รู้จักก่อน

• Pants → US = กางเกง, UK = กางเกงชั้นใน
• Chips → US = เฟรนช์ฟราย, UK = มันฝรั่งทอดบางแบบ
• Biscuit → US = คุกกี้, UK = แครกเกอร์/บิสกิต
• Football → US = อเมริกันฟุตบอล, UK = ฟุตบอล (Soccer)

Tip: เวลาเดินทางหรือทำงานกับฝรั่ง → ดู context หรือถามถ้าไม่แน่ใจ

• Gesture → ช่วยให้สื่อสารชัดเจน แต่บางท่าอาจ offensive
  • ✅ Nod = เห็นด้วย / ฟังอยู่
  • ✅ Open palms = จริงใจ, ยินดี
  • ❌ Thumbs up = ok (บางประเทศ = rude)
• Facial expressions → ยิ้ม → friendly, but don’t overdo
• Personal space → US/UK ~ 1–2 ฟุต

Tip: ภาษากาย + น้ำเสียง + คำพูด = Communication 100%

• ภาษาไทย tonal language → ทำให้ฝรั่งคิดว่าเสียงสูงต่ำมีผลกับทุกคำ
• คำตรงตัวบางคำ → ไม่เหมือนภาษาอังกฤษ
  ตัวอย่าง: “I’m boring” vs “I’m bored”
• ฝรั่งไม่เข้าใจ politeness particles (ครับ/ค่ะ) → ต้องใช้คำสุภาพภาษาอังกฤษ เช่น please, thank you, could you…

Tip: อธิบายง่าย ๆ → ใช้ประโยคสุภาพ + tone friendly

• ฟังให้เข้าใจ + ยิ้ม → เปิดใจ, friendly
• ถามคำถามเปิด (open questions)
  ตัวอย่าง: What do you enjoy doing on weekends?
• แชร์เรื่องตัวเองแบบสั้น → ทำให้เขารู้สึก relatable
• ใช้ collocations & idioms เล็กน้อย → ดูเป็นธรรมชาติ
• รักษามารยาท → Please, Thank you, Excuse me

Tip: Connection = ฟัง + แสดงความสนใจ + ใช้ภาษาที่เหมาะสม
